Basic Blackjack Rules:

The goal of blackjack is for the player to beat the dealer's hand without going over 21. Any face card is worth 10. Aces are worth either  1 or 11. Each player starts with two cards, one of the dealer's cards is positioned face down. To 'Hit' is to ask the dealer for another card. To 'Stand' is to hold your total and end your turn. If you go over 21 you bust, and the dealer wins automatically. If you are dealt 21 from the start (Ace & 10), you have blackjack. It normally pays you 3 to 2 or 1.5 times the player's wager. The Dealer will hit until his/her cards total 17 or higher. The player has an option to double if he has a good hand. The player must double his wager and only receive one more card. The player can Split when they have  two matching cards - the pair is then split into separate hands. When splitting, the player must  also double the bet, because each new hand is now worth the original bet. The rules state that you can only double/split on the first move, or first move of a hand created by a split. However, if you split a pair of aces, the rules allow for only one hit per Ace. The rules allow you to double on a hand resulting from a split. Many casinos have variations to these rules.  Check before you play.
